Fender 1976 Fretless - Decal and Neck ??

i messaged the seller re. the Decal (the worst I've seen) mainly, but also queried the bound (+ ebony?) neck, which I thought wasn't right for 76 (??). He doesn't speak English, so had to use Bing Translator. His latest (translated) reply :-
" Good evening

Apparently you tell me that my bass is not a Fender!
This is very weird, unless the renowned stores sell fake Fender in Belgium...
I bought it new. May be it is not the years 1978, may be 1980... But I can assure you that personally for having bought it in store and have played it for many years I can tell you it's an excellent bass and origin.
Thanks for having me announce my bass was a fake. Me I have no doubt that it is original

The worst I've seen, too. Looks like it was hand-drawn with a Sharpie. Avoid.
