paulnb57 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 The opening riff on Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols Quote
cameltoe Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) Unknown Road- Pennywise. That piano tune that acts as a theme through a few of their albums, that descends into furious palm muted power chords. Bravery, Repitition and Noise- BJM. A delicate start to the song Just for Today which always raises the hairs on the back of my neck, especially when the strings come in. Incesticide- Nirvana. Having exhausted Nevermind, at 14 years old I was pleased to have something else to thrash out, in the form of this rushed-released B-sides album. That opening bassline to Dive and the feedback intro to the guitar chords pumps me up every time. Edited December 5, 2015 by cameltoe Quote

ubit Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Sweet and innocent by Diamond Head. It's so old, but still gives me a buzz when I hear the riff! Quote
miles'tone Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 My fave opening chords to an album, that sends shivers down my spine due to the fact I know what a treat of a journey I'm now on (phew), is on: The Changeling, which opens The Doors LA Woman album. A 'lifer' album (for me) for sure. Quote
barneyg42 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015
The harmonica intro to school by supertramp is a really spine tingly start, proper builds the song up. Love it
My all time favourite album, Crime of the Century! And the outro on the title track does it for me too....but that's another thread!! Quote
steve-bbb Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 this rather nifty little todd rundgren production... http://youtu.be/wPLMk2m6gaI Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I can think of a few, but this one is fun. The intro to this is just so abrasive, jagged and uncomfortable that I break out in a massive grin every time. spongebob Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Off the top of my head.....The Stooges - Search And Destroy - especially the Iggy remaster. Rock and roll! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nRJFsdUvqA Quote
martin8708 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Start me up . Keef and the Rolling Stones . The way Charlie Watts seems to come in slightly too late , but pulls it back in , great timing by Mr Watts . Also probably THE most botched opening chord by cover bands . Quote
