Autumn Leaves Transcriptions?

Hi all,
I'm currently working on two long term challenges... getting my walking to be a bit more refined and improving my sight reading and I was hoping some of you might be able to help me work on the two together.

Ive been working on the classic Autumn Leaves changes using upper and lower chromatic approaches, scalic approaches etc but am struggling to play any new (to me) transitions. Feels a little like Im going through the motions.... So I was wondering if anyone had any transcriptions of how any of the greats tackled these changes that I can analyse? I know I could/should listen and figure this stuff for myself but a) it would be good reading practice for me and B) I want to spend the time with a bass in my hand rather than a pencil and paper if at all possible (sorry if that comes across as lazy!)

Anyways, if anyone has any transcriptions you're willing to share I'd be extremely grateful!
Thanks!

The only one I can find at the moment is this somewhat simplified version by Rickie Lee Jones with Brian Bromberg on Bass.
There are some nice, but basic, ideas in there.

I've got this transcription with Roy Vogt on bass:

this is good material, but about the chords...
i think the "Dm7" is supposed to be "D7"
as you can see, the "F#" is played on that bar.
👍

This blog has an entry about Sam Jones' version on Somethin Else along with a transcription

This is a must read for all bass players.

Personally I'm in favour of transcribing lines myself. Context is important, a line may look good written out, and played 'solo', but you'd need to hear it in the context that it was originally played in.

There are many versions of Autumn leaves around, from slow ballad style by Miles, to more up-tempo versions by Coltrane, and many in-between.

+1 for transcribing. I find that if I take something off the page then it never quite goes in to my brain and my fingers as deeply as things that I've worked out by ear.

When in doubt, I always default to Ray Brown. Bass is nice and high in the mix on this one:

Ron Carter and Jim Hall also did a great version of it. I think I have this transcribed somewhere, will check it and post on here:

+1 on transcribing - I've finally got round to doing a bit and it is great, quite addictive to be honest. I've put a couple of apps on my cheap Android tablet that really help with the process. I'm currently doing Paul Chambers' line on Stolen Moments because I find that my own playing over minor blues tunes is a bit weak and I wanted to pick up some tips.

But it's also handy to have someone else's transcriptions for sight-reading and general inspiration.

What transcribing software do you use? Also do you use a midi keyboard for inputing?

I use Sibelius - I know lots of people who use Finale and swear by it but I don't see that one has an advantage over the other.

As for inputting it's probably a 50/50 split between midi keyboard and qwerty keyboard - my piano chops are non-existent so I'm quicker just using my computer keyboard.

On Android I've been using Audiopo to slow down and loop the music I'm transposing, and Passacaglia Music Notation which is an excellent notation app. I haven't used a midi keyboard, I just enter the music on the stave in Passacaglia, but a keyboard makes sense if you're using a PC or Mac
