textbook for music for my son

i'd like to seek your advice/recommendation regarding the suitable textbook for music for my son who is currently in year 9.

any site that you will suggest will be appreciated. probably i can buy it online.

Difficult question to answer with the information provided. What sort of textbook are you after? An instructional book? Theory? What level is he at?

he is in level 9.
i am not sure what is included in his curriculum.
i'll ask him.

Not sure whether this is directly relevant to the current curriculum in school, but there is a reference book for people studying music theory up to grade 5(is that GCSE comparable level nowadays?) which is very useful and affordable(about £6).

If it's for general theory the AB guide is good. If it's for GCSE then there are specific books available covering the exact syllabus for each exam board. You'll need to know if he's doing edexel, ocr, aqa etc
