Amfi Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) Price or Trade Value : £2600.- (Euros 3625.-) For sale this Fodera Imperial Elite, which was modified in Japan for a Japanese Jazz player (see below). Here are the specs details, coming from Fodera: Sequence Number 1286 Serial Number I41286N Model Imperial Instrument Type Bass Strings 4 Top Wood Koa Top Wood Figure Curly Body Wood Mahogany Body Wood Figure Neck wood Maple Fingerboard Wood Ebony Fingerboard Inlay MOP Dots Production Date 4/4/1997 Sold To Hochi I appear to be the second owner of this bass; this instrument was mainly played by a Japanese jazz bassist, who modified it in several ways. Here are the modifications: -the bass was originally fretless -The original electronics was: one Lane Poor soap bar single pickup with Fodera logo one volume + passive tone (no preamp) Modified to: (first the original pickup was moved towards the bridge, see picture) two new Kent Armstrong pickups were installed a ramp was installed One extra volume and one tone were added push/pull swich for parallel to single was added, for each pickups A few words about the condition of the bass: Well, it's been played, and it's close to 19 years old; so you can see that : ) There are a few scratches here and there, some wear and tear, but nothing major, except the hole drilled when the pickup was moved, and the bridge, which would need a good oil scrubbing. Please note that the rather low selling price is taking into account the above modifications. Needless to say, the bass plays and sounds very well; very deep and focused fretless sound. The bass comes with a Fodera hardcase, original straplocks, as well as the original Lane Poor pickup.
