paul_5 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I was playing about with Reaper last night on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro and couldn't believe the performance improvement from my usual DAW (Pro Tools 10). PT10 really struggles with impulses reverbs and higher quality amp simulators, but Reaper just keeps going - seriously considering moving to Reaper full time now... Quote
Dood Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Reaper has been my goto since very early versions! I love it! - In fact, I downloaded a copy from the Cockos website to trial and by the end of the day I'd done so much with it I bought a full license then and there! Cross-Platform use and the ability to install the app on a USB stick for windows users is just crazy! I do work in Logic X now as well when work/sessions send me projects, but Reaper has always been the one I can do the fastest editing in. I think Reaper, Toontrack EZ Drummer 2 and Positive Grid BIAS (& BIAS FX) together make such an awesome set up without breaking the bank. Quote
Rumple Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Amazing software and seems more intuitive than the expensive alternatives I've tried, love it, I happily bought a license. Quote
paul_5 Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) As much as I don't relish learning year another DAW, I'm really impressed with it so far. I can update my OS too, without having to shell out mucho monies for an updated PT license as well. Seems to be the way forward. Edited December 7, 2015 by paul_5 Quote
Bigjas Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I've just switched from Cubase to Reaper and I'm very impressed. You get a 30 day trial period and I bought a license after a couple of hours. Jas Quote
RockfordStone Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 i swapped from cubase to reaper. i like the fact it is so simple, makes you listen to a sound rather than relying on a knob graphic Quote
ahpook Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) LicenCe !!! I've used Reaper a few times, always struck me as very straightforward. My machine seems to struggle with the DAW I use at the moment, so maybe ti's time to have another look at Reaper. Edited December 11, 2015 by ahpook Quote

ahpook Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) Five it a decade or two and it'll be 'license' everywhere and for all meanings, so let's not get hung up. Like I did earlier Edited December 12, 2015 by ahpook Quote
ras52 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015
Reaper is very, very efficient...
...at propagating US spellings. Quote
