RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted December 8, 2015 Share Posted December 8, 2015 The mans a legend.( plus gecdy& alex of course ) It doesn't seem that long ago , that we thought we'd never see Rush ( after the roll the bones tour for example) . I don't think even rush realised , how missed they were over here. Saw them quite a few times now . Most of the bands I grew up with, are getting old vote are dying . I would think rush will still record, but obviously not as much .maybe a solo from Alex and geddy. Neil has a lot of things he wants to do , and thankfully he can pick and choose what he wants to do , whenever he wants . Must buy that r40!dvd. No doubt there will be loads of 'rare' stuff released. I mean if you turn off the vocals you would be hard pushed to say that the same band did any two songs more than 3 albums apart. Hopefully Ged will still be pottering about musically, and Alex could always just be an acoustic guest on other albums (and appear in goofy movies of course). Neil will continue to write I hope. If Clockwork Angels is their final studio album, then they've left on a high note. Saw them on the "Hold Your Fire" tour, gutted I missed the Clockwork Angels tour. [/quote] Pretty much what I feel - CA is their best work since Power Windows, in my opinion. TBH their output has been very hit or miss for a long time, the likelihood of another quality album would be pretty low should they record again. Glad I saw them for the last time on the CA tour - touring a new album is what they're meant to do, rather than these nostalgia shows they've been prone to recently. Not that sorry then to miss R40 - but I'll probably buy the BluRay, because I'm weak... Apropos of very little - Peart's retirement: awesome, inspirational, genre-defining drummer, Marmite lyricist, woeful writer. So, which one does he pack in? J. They have been my favourite band since my mate played me 2112 in 1978. Lots of fond memories of gigs, albums, friends.
