Dave Hanebach
Hi, I have owned a Fingerbone 4 string bass for 25 years, beutifull mahogany body, flamed maple cap, birds eye maple neck, ebony fingerboard, fretless, ebony pickup covers. Build quality is fantastic. Sounds beutifull. Anyone out there who owns one of these instruments ? would love to see any pictures. Cheers, Dave.[attachment=206923:file4 001.jpg]

SICbass
Welcome to Basschat Dave. I've never even heard of fingerbone. Is that a British builder?
Dave Hanebach
Hi, yes the luthier was a chap called Paul Richardson, who was tragically killed in an auto accident a few years ago. Paul made fingerbone guitars and basses in the early 80's. I have only seen one other picture of a bass similar shape to mine on this basschat site. Cheers, Dave. RhysP
They were great quality instruments. I played a few in the early 80s, including a stunning fretless. There was a model that was quite an unusual shape, I think John Martyn used the guitar version for a while.
