Active single coils and interference

I'm contemplating swapping out the original pickups in my Peavey Zephyr C4 for EMG40TX's. The EMG's can be used in either single coil or dual coil mode through the use of a switch. My question is, would a soloed EMG40TX in single coil mode pick up interference from lighting circuits etc the way passive pickups do?

It may well do, but you can minimise it by making sure your shielding is up to scratch.
