When it comes to Lizzy, I always preferred the Waiting For An Alibi intro

The very reason I play bass was the extended bass intro to their cover of These Boots Are Made For Walkin' when Megadeth played it live. When I saw them do this just a few weeks after this footage was shot, that was the moment of clarity for me

Apologies, that'll teach me to pay attention.

Anyway, it's good enough to be mentioned twice!

Album number one, track number one, the first sounds you hear are from the one and only Chris Squire. Perhaps not the greatest bass intro but rather appropriate that his was the first thing heard from Yes, considering how much he was ingrained in the whole Yes sound

Geddy Lee solo

Here Comes Your Man by The Pixies is pretty good

always liked Monkey Man by the Stones too, very simple but sets the tone for the song, and also sums up the mood of the album too

The Skids - Into The Valley. What a sound. :)

Iron Maiden - Killers

UFO - Cherry. A bass intro that Steve Harris, having also listened to Lights Out, built a whole career on ... :)

Rush - Distant Early Warning.

'Flying saucer attack' by the the Rezilos, you can argue whether its the best but its pretty decent, l used to do it in a covers band (drummers idea) once you'd started it there was no hiding place.

more drum and bass, but plenty of bass
