Just turn the volume (on the bass) down so it doesn't clip the amp?

yes apparently so ive just taken the cover off and checked - the trim pots are as they came from the factory and are set to their minimum

seems like is the remaining option - the output still seems huge in comparison to my TRB and Sandberg though
