bassix
You beat me to Karl Alvarez who plays fantastic melodic basslines and is one of the nicest blokes I've met in music. He also loves a bass nerd out session which makes him go up in my estimation! Matt Freeman is the guy who made me take up bass though. timmo
I like Gaye Adverts tone. They were one of the better bands from the early punk scene in my opinion
drTStingray
I'm not too fussed about the genre good music is good music. But for me the guys that I mentioned - Jah Wobble especially made me want to pick up a bass.
Yeah I can see that - there were a number of really good bass players around at that time. seashell
I'm not normally a massive fan of the genre. But I was totally amazed by Jah Wobble at LBGS a couple of years ago and now he is one of my main bass heroes! :-)

Rikki_Sixx
I grew up with a lot of 90's skate punk but love classic punk rock. My favourites are a bit of a mix I think, some more for their attitude than their talent! Dan Andriano - Alkaline Trio Mike Dirnt - Green Day Fat Mike - NOFX Dee Dee Ramone - the Ramones Jerry Only - the Misfits Mike Alvarez - Descendents Matt Freeman - Rancid
