skidder652003
Mates just ordered one for his son as a starter bass, and Im actually a bit jealous! £213 from Thomman, cant quite believe how cheap these are, they look amazing for the money, want one bad, its not good. Bassassin
Been having SR GAS pangs for a bit now, regretting having sold both of my 90s MIJ SR800s. Came very, very close to pulling the trigger on an SR300 several times. Then a somewhat beat-up SR500 came up, took a punt and got it for £87... Jon. cocco
SRs are incredibly well playing basses. My SR605 is amazing for long practices and gigs. I do sometimes wish it was a 4 string though.
mcnach
I used to own an old style SR300 (PJ configuration). Very good bass. I just didn't get along with the very thin neck (which many others love)... otherwise I'd still have it.
CamdenRob
I do like the look of the White one... How tight is the string spacing?
Naetharu
I do like the look of the White one... How tight is the string spacing?
Standard 19mm at the bridge on these so the spacing with the right hand is pretty normal. It is very narrow at the nut however, around 38mm (my tape measure is a little iffy) so a bit thinner than a Jazz bass. Add to that the thin nature of the neck front to back and it feels very small. I love the look but I find mine gives me terrible wrist pain after playing - just too small for my hands I guess. One thing I would say is that these have the most amazing slap sound. I have no idea what causes it but they just have a beautiful metallic 'pop' that I have yet to find on anything else other than perhaps a very expensive MM Stingray I tried. alyctes
I have one, bought from Evil Undead of this parish. It's tuned (as I have it) BEAD and the only issue I have with it (apart from not playing it enough) is that the bottom bout is so thin it's unpleasant to rest on your leg for any length of time. DarkHeart
I used to have one and found when playing up to about the 4th fret if i moved my arm and hand back even slightly i could bend the neck and choke the strings, found this with a LTD as well. cocco
I love my SR. It's a million times more bass than its price tag would lead you to believe.
Twincam
Played an Sr 300 was not that impressed by the electrics and the neck tho slim felt a bit odd, though they seem well built etc. I think they are priced about right. Sr 500 much better in the electrics shame about how the body's get marked. Above that they really come into there own would love a higher end Sr
Subbeh
Nearly bought one as a backup not too long ago. They look good, sound good and seem to have a really great spec for the money.
tobiewharton
Played an SR605 whilst testing some cabs recently. It was a really nice bass. Tobie
