ian Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 hi yes i will as soon as i get to my parents computer were the pics are thanks
bass_ferret Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Not again! There were a couple of guys on basstalk looking for GB's. While the site is still up it might be worth sending them a PM (if you can). There have been quite a few GB Spitfires sold while you have been doing the sale/no sale bit. The reason they sold for good money is because the sellers put some effort into selling them.
ian Posted May 20, 2007 Author Posted May 20, 2007 i have put effort into selling it but i cant get the pictures onto this site yet check the bass out on basstalk in the bass porn section.i havent really been that botherd about selling it in the past because it is so consistant but i need the money to have a 5 string built. but thanks for the ad
TheRinser Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 why not save the pics from basstalk to the pc you're using now, then put em up on here, or save them to photobucket or something. takes 2 mins and you might actually sell it...
MB1 Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 MB1. AIR BASS? LOOKS LIKE THIS SPITFIRES FLOWN, YOULL NEVER SELL OWT WITHOUT SOME IMAGES MATE! MB1.
ian Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 hi i may also be interested in a top end swap for this bass a good 5 string
Bass Culture Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Ian, Can you tell me anything about the electrics - are the pickups single coil or humbuckers? What's the preamp spec? I've got a five string I'm thinking about moving on (and really only thinking about at the moment) which you might be interested in. Cheers, Mark
ian Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 hi mark the best thing would be is to ask bernie at www.gbguitars.co.uk it is the same spec as mark kings same electronics and control layout . what is the 5 string you have please.but they are GB electroincs and pick ups
Bass Culture Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Hi Ian, Okay, I'll drop Bernie an e-mail. The 5 string I may have available (I stress may) is a Blueburst Zoot Custom with EMG Musicman and Jazz pickups and an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. It's also got LED's. I've had it a few weeks and am still getting to grips with it as I've always been a 4 string player. I'm finding it easy enough to get on with but if I don't use the low B then I'd have to admit there's little point in keeping it really. Cheers, Mark
bass_ferret Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Ahem. Bernie's not very good with email, as far as computers are concerned he struggles with the primary function defeat switch. Unlike many custom builders Bernies stock basses use his own pick-ups and electrics (not built by John East like everyone else). The pickups are dual coil and they also have a series parallel switch. The pan contol is buffered so you dont get phase canellation with both pups on. The volume control has clicks for easy setting. 3 band 18v eq with +-21db cut/boost. Another cool feature is there is a light that blinks to indicate battery condition.
Bass Culture Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Ah, thanks for that bf. Christ, 21db cut or boost - that's more than most amplifiers!
