Hi all,

After a heavy year of gigging, a wheel on my cab has broken into many pieces and is beyond repair.

Does anyone know where I might get a spare wheel (or set of 2) for my Genz Benz 212 Neox Cab. The wheels slot into to edge of the cab - see picture from the internet http://s594.photobuc...011297.jpg.html (not my link at all, but at the moment I have no way of taking a picture of my own cab!!!)

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Could be this: https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/flight-case-wheels/penn-elcom-w2001-50mm-recessed-caster-black
Or this: http://www.adamhall.com/en/Adam_Hall_Hardware_3783_-_Recessed_Edge_Castor_58_mm_in_plastic_Housing.html

Difficult to tell from the picture, but as t-h says, it looks like a fairly standard part and is probably not exclusive to Genz.

Any of these the right size: http://www.adamhall....ed_Castors.html

None of those looks like a simple like-for-like replacement, sadly.

Have you tried emailing "][email protected] - taken from the Genz Benz website. I know they're not operating any more, but you might get some joy.

Or Mark at Bass Direct...

Do try Mark at BassDirect at the same time, though. As I have no idea how active that support email address is likely to be.

And there are a whole load of other (US) organisations listed on the GB website. They might also be able to help if you get no initial joy.

Ok, no joy with the replies - had Bass Direct say 'they'd have a look', but then no reply. No reply off KMC either - any other ideas folks??

Thanks in advance

Do you have some better photos of it? I think I've seen every decent quality tiltback caster that's available in the UK so I may be able to recognise it - however it may be a part which is only available in the USA.

i reckon an email to agedhorse over on talkbass might do the trick. He was a senior engineer at Genz Benz when they were on the go and as far as I know, continues to provide service/customer support for Genz Benz products

Pics from ebay of a pair of "genuine GenzBenz" spares (sold). But better pics....

Though damn those daft Americans with their old non-metric rulers...!

That does *look* about right, and appears to match the ruler shown in the picture.

Better still, you can remove your broken caster and compare dimensions with the PDF drawing to confirm it it's an exact match.

Surprisingly low capacity, 16kg, mind. Maybe no surprise that it's failed if that's the spec of the original, given that the cab is 24kg.

And, of course, would be better to be able to order from a UK source...

16kg isn't low really - That's a 32kg loading capacity between the two casters on the bottom of the cab. 12kg to spare (e.g. half the weight of the cab again) is pretty generous.

UK source - don't think TCH is common in the UK - Adam Hall and the Chinese rip offs seem to have that sewn up. Besides, the cost of the components and getting them to the UK isn't going to break the bank - especially when it's for a like for like replacement... shouldn't even be liable to customs charges.

Thanks everyone for your help with this much appreciated.
The one's EBS_Freak has highlighted look promising. I'll have a good measure up to compare!

Thanks!!!!

Annoyingly the ones suggested don't match. I've now managed to remove a damaged wheel and add a diagram below.

Any more ideas folks?

Thanks in advance!
