case construction

hi folks

I am curious about how a hard case is put together (I want to put a custom lining in a case for a project).

The case will be wooden and rectangular. I'm expecting to remove the lining from an existing case and reline it. I'd like to know what I'm going to do before starting

Can anyone enlighten me? I'm a little reluctant to start ripping one apart, at least from a position of ignorance.

What kind of hard case are we talking about. Rectangular, wooden, ABS, shaped?

One technique I have seen people use is to make a box and then cut it in half.

Not wishing to be negative or cast nasturtiums on your creative abilities, but I think it would probably save you a world of time and grief if you bought a used case and relined it to your specifications.

That was what I was going to do... I think I may have to give up on this thread, because it's obvious my OP didn't do what I wanted it to.

Ah yes, I misunderstood it. You wanted to know how a case is constructed, I thought you wanted to make one yourself. Duh!
