bigevilman
Hi Guys Really interested in the new school players combo from MB. I'm wondering if anyone on here has experience with swapping the head unit out? Is the blackline head the same size as the little mark head as Id like to swap my combo head with it, and get a NY151 to make a portable 2x15 rig Any1 know? mcnach
I've seen people changing the head in the CMD121 combo and also on a 210... so it is possible. However the amp does not have the top metal plate that a stand alone head would have, so you'd have to make one or source it somehow from another broken head or something, otherwise the guts would be exposed when you use it (assuming you want to use it as a stand alone unit. yorks5stringer
Will the speaker in the school combo be up to it? It's rated 150w at 8 ohm and 300w at 4 ohm and on its own you'll be putting in 300 watts with your LM head and 500w if linked to a NY151? bigevilman
The speaker is rated 300 watt, which the head only puts out at 8 ohm. With the ny151, it will be 500 over both speakers, this 250 each - so would of thought tht'd be ok?
yorks5stringer
Should be OK then.
