In remote parts of Asia the Ebony fellers use elephants to haul the trees to the nearest river to extract it . However , ebony is so dense that it sinks , so they fell a further two trees of another species to lash either side of the ebony to make it float . If the raft subsequently gets stuck up a creek with no paddle then that makes three logs in trouble .
