discreet Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 The bodged acoustic guitar bridge actually made me feel sick. People are terrible. That is all. Quote
Musashimonkey Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 The truth is something like this happens to unfortunate guitarsand basses every day. Main stream media and corporations just keep it suppressed and out of sight. It's a real problem that needs addressing. Quote
Number6 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Surely for just £2 a month somebody can start a charity to rescue these guitars..... Just £2 a month! Quote
ambient Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Interesting to see others with similar DIY skills to myself 😊. Quote
MoonBassAlpha Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 You'll find yourself on some kind of register. and not in a good way!! Quote
3below Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Spectacular break on the telecaster, must have been some impact. Quote
Lord Sausage Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 The one with the massive Fender sign is excellent. I would love that! Quote
Lord Sausage Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 (edited) Also the Gold Top that has been turned into a triangle...awesome! and the jazz master Edited December 20, 2015 by Lord Sausage Quote
steve-bbb Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 No worse than some people's attempts at relicing and adding mojo Quote
bartelby Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 The "steampunk" one with all the (un)sympathetic strings is impressive... Quote
Vinny Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I'm actually rather taken with the 'lateral thinking' take on the SG headstock break, and I really like the acoustic with the Strat plate on, but then, I play a pink Daisy so I'm aware my opinion on instrument looks may not be very highly respected. lurksalot Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Sad to say my first bass was the neighbours snapped neck Hofner violin bass that I acquired at 15 and in my defence, I didnt have much money at 15 and had never heard of a luthier, so my repair using woodscrews to hold the neck on weren't very pretty, they did the job. The'repair' may have destroyed any value in the guitar but I didnt know that the guitar would have had any value back then, Quote
Dave Vader Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 who's nicked my guitars then? I are very proud of my work Quote
ras52 Posted December 23, 2015 Author Posted December 23, 2015 Some of those make this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TENNESSEE-15-STRING-EXTENDED-RANGE-BASS-/291630566887 look positively restrained. Quote
rungles Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 The younger me once put 6 mini-toggle switches on my strat (3 x on/off and 3 x phase) a la Brian May but at least I had the good grace to make another scratchplate. Quote
Big_Stu Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 You'd think that while working on a headstock they'd take the time to cut the string slots deeper on the nut, for ease of fretting those open chords, especially for guys with big hands. Quote
