Can anyone help? A friend of mine has lost her bass and would quite like to get it back. It's an Ovation Magnum 4 in a Bill Bird case. Was last seen at the Feathers in Basingstoke where it had been loaned to a band. As you can understand she would quite like it back. Many thanks.

Those are proper pretty I was never a big fan of the original magnum or 2 but the 3 and 4 are right up my alley ... was the the brown or greyburst one ?

Do you mean she lent it to someone and that person hasn't returned it?

Or are you saying it was stolen while on loan to that person?

I think someone coming forward 10 years later is a bit unlikely. Also if it has a new owner (that probably paid for it) they're also unlikely to volunteer it's reunification.

More info on the Bass.
It went missing about 10 years ago, dark sunburst, non standard knobs and a repaired headstock crack.

I lost my wallet in the middle of Falkirk sometime in 1994. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts then please send it to:

Old Pink, Care of the Funny Farm, Chalfont

Oh yes, it was a brown one if that helps

I would just like to say that we've not been friends that long on recently found out about this bass myself.
I knew it was gonna be a long shot but you've gotta help out fellow 4-stringers where you can.

It's been 10days now. Has it been found? The usual rescoursfullness of Basschat seems to be letting us down.

Come on, we found that guy in the waistcoat. How hard can a missing bass be?

This is no help at all but I did find the first electric guitar I bought in 1963.
Sold it in Germany in 1965 and found it again on eBay in 2013. :D
It can be done - tell her not to give up hope.

10 years and it is either firewood or someone elses that they've bought in good faith, most likely.
The person should be looking to buy it back -IF they can find it- and the person who lost it should
have paid out and sorted this ages ago.
