silky13 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 They say necessity is the mother of invention... Well combination of excess procurement (on my part) and lack of storage had resulted in grumpy missus. So out of necessity I built a hide it all away bass rack to fit in the tiny little gap between the wall and our wardrobe, that slides in and out on wheels! Doctor J Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Nicely done. I did something similar actually in the wardrobe. Give no more than 10cm to each guitar and fill it up. Quote
SICbass Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 By the look of things, you may have a bit of an Attitude problem Nice solution, well done. Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 I found a way of keeping my missus extremely happy - I left......... Quote
SaxyBassist Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 My late hubby put up with me commandeering a whole room for my music and a whole room for my art! .... but then I had put up with 30 years of bike bits all around the house and cylinder heads in the oven on many occasions I never complained, that was just part of who he was Quote
alyctes Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Clever I should do something like this. Quote
Bigjas Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 What a great idea!! Nicely done and great that everyone is happy. Jas Quote

jezzaboy Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Cool idea and very simple. (Runs down to the patent office to register the "Bass slidomatic storage system" and retire to Barbados on the proceeds!) Quote
Fisheth Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Oooh, may need one of these in the future! Quote
ColinB Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 mmm - thoughts turning to a sort of rotating tie-rack storage solution inside a wardrobe. Quote

Yeah that was the plan, simpler the better for me! the "off the shelf" multi guitar racks were too big for the space so I had to invent something similar, but smaller. Quote

scrumpymike Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Nice - is the rack on castors or some kind of sliders/rails? Quote
It's on rubber fixed castors (75mm iirc from toolstation) to protect the laminate wood floor. Its very smooth running. Quote

neepheid Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Similar story of using up dead space - we changed from a traditional boiler and tanks to a combi. That left a space where the tanks used to be. Bass cupboard then. Quote
scrumpymike Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 The other nice thing about this topic is that I've got a few handy pics to show the Mrs. next time she complains that my 4-bass collection is excessive Quote
