Dubs
I don't know enough about Fender's to really comment, but he's giving away lot of info if it's not a genuine '74 US bass. It looks immaculate for a 34 year old instrument…if it is indeed a 34 year old instrument.

Clarky
Serial number dates it to 1975 Fullerton factory Apart from remarkable condition looks legit to me (correct headstock transfer, serial number, inner wood in neck cavity looks ancient) Either way, its a very nice looking beast
Musky
Pot, neck and pickup codes date to '74 as well. Though the blond finish was only introduced as a standard colour in 1975, so together with the serial number it's probably fair to say the assembly date was '75. Looks pukka enough though. SJA
looks legit to me - it must have been mostly kept unplayed in a case to look that pristine, but the yellowing on the body and lighter hue under the scratchplate look authentic-
Kev
everything points towards that being completly legit in my eyes

Dr.Dave
Think I'd be confident about this one. I can't see anything I don't believe - though I'm no expert. Maybe we're all just used to seeing plenty of mojo with older Fenders so one in fine condition rings the alarm. My main concern would be the shipping info - charges worked out later etc etc. Although if that turned out to be telephone number price I just wouldn't go ahead with the purchase. andy67
transfer looks sticky to me! elaborate...the decal is a replacement not original hence the series of patent numbers under the fender logo. the bridge to me is not authentic 74 more like 90's mexican? thoughts... Bit hard to tell from that picture, but it may have the long G string intonation screw that Fender used from '70/'73. It still looks good to me.
