2elliot Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Just spotted Doug Wimbish on the Ashdown site with a link to a youtube demo. He's knocking out a few videos using the B Social unit. I wonder if he's moving his stage rig over to Ashdown, too? I've only ever seen him use Trace Elliot in the past. I really like Doug so will be keeping a close eye on this. A very interesting catch Ashdown! Quote
Doctor J Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Doug is ridiculously good. I'm surprised to see him leave TE after all this time. Quote

rungles Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Doug is a ridiculously good player and a very nice guy. The two don't always go hand-in-hand. Quote

sbrag Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 I think he's a great player and nice to hear he's a nice guy too. I do think he needs a bigger pedal board though! Quote

Merton Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Lovely guy, great player! I know he's recently played around with the Retroglide head too, wouldn't be surprised to see him using some form of 12-band head from them in the future especially since Trace seem to have disappeared again. Quote
MacDaddy Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 If not for Vernon Reid messing him about, he would be bassist for the 'Stones. Quote
NickD Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 The guy's a bloody wierdo... at the Bass Show he kept winking and gesturing to me during his set! ... then I realised Cass Lewis, was sat right in front of me... Quote

Russ Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Unsurprising. Ashdown is basically run by most of the same people who ran TE back before the Kaman buyout so he's probably well acquainted with them. I guess this means Peavey are going to wind up TE once and for all then. That'd be a real shame - another huge name to add to the bass amp graveyard, along with SWR, Genz-Benz and Marshall. Quote
