Kevin Dean
I try to support UK businesses as best I can , I use Shuker , ( occasionally Status ) Ashdown (UK versions only ) & Barefaced .. All great stuff The Ashdown Neo cabs are great but I find myself using the one barefaced cab mainly for convenience & to give my poor back a rest . But then I feel bad if I've just spoken to Ashdown for advice on the Amp knowing I'm using the Barefaced ... I'm just being a ponce aren't I . Drax
I get this alot. Changed luthiers recently after using the same one for years, felt like I was cheating on the old one!
discreet
These people are in business in a very competitive environment. Consumer choice is about the only real power an individual has left, so use it! Your loyalty is very touching, but in the end it's your duty to go with whoever provides what you're looking for at the price that suits you best. TheGreek
I try to use local services where possible - after all if you don't support them they probably won't be there when you need them. My local music shop recently closed down but the service was so poor and the stock not aimed at Bass players that I found it difficult to actually spend any money there (I think I bought 2x stands). My local luthier, Terry Chapman, is a champ...any work I need doing generally goes there.
BassTractor
Yup. You're just being a ponce. Just like me. I'll always buy from local businesses, and have yet to order anything from 46610 Besixdouze (or even planet B-612 for that matter). Seriously though, I do recognise the sentiment, and suffer way too much from it myself, but then I try to remember that that shop will hardly have the loyalty to me that I extend to them. That uses to help.
KingBollock
There's no point being so loyal to a company that just considers you a statistic. And the person worth being loyal to would understand that if they don't build or supply what you need then you'd need to look somewhere else, and they'd be happy for you if you find it. colgraff
Don't forget that, in most cases, a big company is one that was brilliant at being a small company.
lurksalot
I am happy to spend my money where I like and if a local shop has what I want, seems to be keen to sell me one , lets me browse and try if I want to and generally treats me decently as a customer, I will be happy to spend a little more than I would on-line. If a shop keeper doesn't seem to care whether I am in their premises or not, then I feel no obligation to do any business with him/her. you can sometimes even get that impression with web shopping . Beer of the Bass
If a company is really on the ball they might be interested to find out that users of their amps often prefer other cabs, so that they can figure out why and come up with something to meet those needs.
