I spent this after noon A/B ing these two set ups . I really really wanted the Bareface to sound way better because of the ease of carrying it around .But with the amp set flat the Ashdowns had the sound I like straight away . The main difference being in the low Mids . the Ashdowns have a nice rounded/smooth punch , compared to the barefaced that sound a bit harsh & empty in comparison .Once I started playing with the EQ however it didn't take long to get very close to the sound of the Ashdowns .Not bad considering the 12T is less weight than one of the Ashdowns & the Ashdown are only 44lbs each .Both are high end cabs & if I was fitter I would probably stick to the Ashdowns But I'm not & for me I think the way to go would be to sell both & get a Big twin two .I did like the sound of the Barefaced 2 x10 on the Doods video but I have no idea of how much air it could move .

It is a bit of an ear-opener, realising how transparent the Barefaced cabs are, isn`t it? I`ve found it a lot when using provided rigs that there are much more lows and low-mids on other makes. I alos like the look of the 210, especially three of them stacked, but funds - and how suitable the S12T is for me - prevent me from trying this out.

Also you'd possibly get a different result if you A/B'd these cabs in a live band environment. A cab that sounds a bit harsh and middly in isolation can quite often be the winner when it comes to sitting in a mix and being heard in the room.
