Would this fit? Looks alright to me.

I would expect those to fit.

It says 34.5" winding and you only need 30" plus the distance to the tailpiece from the bridge. Measure the distance to the tailpiece from the bridge; is it less than 4.5"? If it is then that's good.

But you can never tell for certain until the strings are on the bass.

Mind you, given that that page thinks Precision Flats are Bass Boomers, who knows what is reliable there.

I'd still expect them to fit.

The GHS page also gives 34.5" as the winding ... http://www.ghsstrings.com/products/11280-medium-scale-precision-flatstm?category_id=1964710-precision-flatstm
Can anyone recommend these strings at all? Or perhaps these? I have used these on an Epiphone Viola and would do so again.

I am currently re-stringing a Squier Mustang with a set of flats, given to me, that came off a Fender Mustang. I don't know the make but the cotton is a vivid green.

I took off the stock E string from my bass and measured it from the ball end to the other side - it's about 39 inches. Is that even medium scale? Now confused.

The scale is measured from bridge to nut and is called the 'singing' length of the string.

The overall length of string required differs depending on the bridge, tailpiece, headstock and through-body or not.

For example, a 30" short-scale Viola bass needs medium scale strings due to the tailpeice design. A Mustang bass, again 30" short-scale, needs medium-scale strings because of the through-body design.

Rotosound will always give good email advice.
