Another hero of mine gone today (first Lemmy, Pavel Srnicek - former Newcastle goakeeper and now John).

A sad, sad day.

What a fantastic drummer he was - loved watching him on the reunion gig footage from a couple of years ago - still dead tight.

Sad times. The Specials were a huge part of my youth and I was so glad I got to see them on their reunion tour a few years ago. Probably the most fun I have ever had at a gig.

At a recent Q&A session that Horace Panter did in Harrogate he was full of praise for John's drumming and general musicianship and said that John was the only member of The Specials who could improvise. Very sad.

Gutted. Seriously good drummer. We cover quite a few Specials tunes. He was a proper technician with his playing.

Was never a 2 tone fan until I watched them on Jools when they got back together. An excellent drummer and looked cool as f**k behind the black and white drum kit.
