I need to sell at least one bass, so with extreme reluctance, I'm putting the Old Gal up.
She has lots of lumps and dinks, two major ones badly touched up by original owner, plus some varnish of edge of neck and a little dint next to that.
Plays brilliantly though.
Medium weight at 9lb 5oz, comes with both scratchplates, little Eddie head on headstock (removable, no residue), pup cover and tugbar.
And a Fender hardcase that is so bust up it merits it's own photos :o (still just about does the job).
£670 collected from Wigan (or meet up within 50 miles), £700 mainland UK insured courier.

The colour is very like Lake Placid Blue, but in fact it's Aqua Marine Metallic.
I got it to turn it into a Steve Harris "Live After Death" tribute bass. It's a standard 41.6mm nut width, so easier to play than a Harris signature.
And it's lighter.
And, with Royal Blue Japanese Harris signature going used between £750/£850, it's cheaper

The photo with the tortie scratchplate is probably the most representative.

Please don't buy if you want immaculate, this is real road bashed.

Feedback at bottom of post

cheers,
Karl.

Nope, all photos of the same bass Tom, just different light and of course crap photographer.

If I remember correctly, this series (96-2002) were only available in LPB for one year, and it wasn't '97.

It's Aqua Marine Metallic :)

Thanks cocco, she is.

Tom, this model was only done in LPB in 1998, so, given Fender's accuracy with serial numbers................... there is an outside chance this is LPB.

However, in some lights there is a tiny bit of sparkle running through the finish, so I'm convinced it's Aqua Marine. It really does appear massively different at times, especially under stage lighting.

For example pics 2 and 3 were taken within 30 seconds of each other, the bass didn't move, I did.

Anyway, Fender spec http://www.cnjradio....0192200APg3.pdf

PM's replied thanks.

Sale preferred although may consider a Jazz.

Surprised there isn't a bit more interest, a great coloured American Standard, made to look a bit like a Japanese Steve Harris signature.
Weighs less than the sig, has a normal P nut width rather than the sig's 1.75 inch, graphite neck strengthening unlike the sig.

And cheaper than the last 3 Japanese sigs have sold for. :)

Cheers Dunc.
For me, this one is a better bass to play simply because of the smaller neck dimensions.
It really is a very good ( but gig worn) American Precision.

Enjoy the RW and hopefully see you at The Millstone in Darwen :)

Never had a blue bass (or bluish!) but they are growing on me. A mate of mine bought a metallicy blue anniversary P back in the 80's. Gold hardware, white plate. It was a fancy thing indeed. Sounded great and weighed a ton. About 10 years ago I asked to buy it from him and he said (rather red faced) that he had swapped it for 2 record decks! He is still absolutely devastated at what he did. That's what them there E's do for you...

I often remind him!

What date is the Millstone? (Blatant advertising of course :) )

Think we've all sold a daft one we regret Dunc (1977 Telecaster bass, Sonic Blue for £400  ).

We are at The Millstone in Darwen Sat Jan 23rd.
There's a link to BBGM and Troyen websites at bottom of all of my posts (shameless plug   ).
