Melodyne: to upgrade or not to upgrade

I bought Studio One 3 Professional a while ago, and it comes with a licence for Melodyne Essential. I've been happy using Waves Tune for pitch correction, so I didn't activate the Melodyne licence until yesterday, after seeing a video of its neat audio-to-midi trick.

As soon as I registered, I was invited to upgrade to Melodyne Editor (the one that does polyphonic tricks), at 1/2 price, i.e. €149 rather than €299. The catch is that this offer is only available for 14 days.

So, so you have any success stories with Melodyne Editor that couldn't be done with Waves Tune or Melodyne Essential?

It depends how often you use it I guess.

I seldom record vocals, when I do and I need Melodyne I just download the free trial using a new email address :).

I think I've talked myself out of it. The cut-down version did what I wanted it to do, Apparently the full version's polyphonic audio-to-MIDI is amazing, but pretty much all of my polyphonic audio starts life as MIDI anyway. And the money could go towards that nice new vacuum cleaner I've got my eye on...
