kusee pee
Just discovered his work over the Xmas break and wondered if anyone else is into his stuff? Gonna start exploring some Brand X. lowregisterhead
Just discovered his work over the Xmas break and wondered if anyone else is into his stuff? Gonna start exploring some Brand X. Some interesting techniques he uses in this series:
You've a real treat in store - there's lots of extraordinary stuff that he did with Brand X, a good deal more edgy and exuberant than in the example in your original post, IMHO. My favourite albums by them are probably Product and Unorthodox Behaviour, but it's all going to be an eye-opener, frankly. Enjoy!
RhysP
You need to check out his solo album "Cape Catastrophe" too.

Davo-London
LOL. Phil Collins was awesome. So was John Goodsall and Robin Lumley etc. I much prefer early days Percy Jones on his wall. I don't care for his tone on the example added by low registerhead. Davo

I first heard Percy Jones on this in 1977, bought the album and still have it. I must dig it out for a listen.

philw
Funny, I've been reminiscing with old Brand X stuff on Spotify all day. Percy was one of the reasons I started playing bass and one of the reasons I bought a fretless Wal as soon as I possibly could. I still reckon PJ's the best out there. Martin E
I agree with everyone, he's a fantastic and unique player. But, dare I say it, that opening track on the OP's video has me wincing a bit , sorry.
