leroydiamond Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Today marks the 30th Anniversary of Phil Lynott's passing. Gone but never to be forgotten. Quote
NickD Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I was 14 and I remember it as though it was yesterday... Rest in peace Fella! Quote
Lynottfan Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 It is sadly so, I had thought about starting a thread on this myself but busy playing the mans music, so cheer's mate, a thread worth starting. Quote
madshadows Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Can't believe it's been 30 years, what a loss he was to music ! John Quote
FlatEric Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 It is hard to believe it is that long ago. He is still a massive influence to a lot of people and the music still lives - only a few months ago, in the break at a gig - a brother and sister, maybe 18 to 20, said how much they enjoyed the Lizzy tracks we played. So, got chatting - they were massive fans and they started reeling off all the albums they had got and their favourite tracks! Very impressed! He had gone ten years before they were born and I'm a little uneasy about saying this but I really think they knew more about Phil than I did!! His music "really does" Live on!! Quote
LewisK1975 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 The most recent Classic Rock had a huge feature on him - spent Sunday afternoon going through it whilst listening to Lizzy, great way to spend some sofa time.. Quote
TrevorR Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Can't believe he been gone three decades. What a great bassist, writer, singer, rock star! Quote
