This is an awesome tube preamp and overdrive - gives you nice clean tube warmth at low gain settings, then gets increasingly dirty as you crank it. There's an additional 'colour' setting too - if you flip that switch it goes to really hairy distortion / fuzz, at the expense of some volume. That's where the adjustable clean boost comes in handy... i set it so that volume output is the same if you engage the boost and 'colour' switch at the same time. Also has a three band EQ, with sweep-able mid Q.
