Really like it! Classy, smart, and you just know that theses basses are built to an amazing level of quality.

This or a vintage P? Fodera every time! Vintage P's don't have Aguilar pups or decent bridges.

Reminds of a BC Rich Eagle I had for a while.

You would get change with this in many a case. And when you compare the build quality...

Still, each to their own. Vintage P's do look pretty on a wall, or in those rather fetching tweed cases ;)

Alternatively, buy a Squire Classic Vibe, stick a Aguilar P in it, and lets be honest you will be 3/4 of the way there :)

I like it and I'm not a dentist, doctor, lawyer or CEO... I'm a glorified builder

...in fact i'm not even that really anymore, these days I mostly just walk around building sites pointing at things and tutting.

I am one of those in this market, not rich, just willing to save. In Nov 2014 I went to Bass San Diego and tried out a bunch of 4-string instruments including two PreCBS Fenders (65 pbass and 60 jazz bass refin) . For me, though, the Fodera Ying Yang had the best feel and sound of the bunch. But here's the issue: I play in bands that have a blues/ 60s Rock / Motown vibe, and my PBasses (Fender 72 and Fender Custom Shop '59 NOS) are all I ever use. Those Fenders are wonderful wonderful instruments, just settle right into the mix, but I've been unwilling to sell the Fodera for the dumb emotional reason that I just love it's feel. Now I have a reason. Foderas really are a joy to play, and this price point is acheivable for me, in time. Just thrilled, yeah a sucker perhaps, but I'll get a lot of pleasure.

Money no object, I'd definitely buy one. Although current P bass squeeze is a slightly more humble Nate Mendel.

To me it is like Rolls Royce bringing out an MPV. $4000 for a P, not in a million years. But that is me, there will most certainly be a market for it.

Reminds me of the Aston Martin Cygnet. At least Mercedes re-badged the Smart Car.

Looks like something you could buy from Argos.

This. Looks like it should cost about £300.

If I were in the market for a high end P I'd certainly consider it - $4k seems relatively cheap to me; in or around Fender "Custom Shop" prices but made to Fodera's high standards. Price is all relative but that doesn't seem obscene like some of their other offerings (nothing against those either, they're just less obtainable for me).

One of their better looking basses too.

Sounds great! This video is a real eye-opener. It really shows the amount of work, skill, time and quality of materials that go into these stunning instruments. Worth every penny in my eyes!

But is it worth every penny in your bank account..? ;)

I think it's unlikely they'd happily exchange such a beautiful instrument for the amount I have in my account lol.

However, i have recently finished putting money away for when my ACG is complete, so I might start putting money away for one of these too!

Hey, if you've got the scratch and you're prepared to blow it on a bass as fugly-looking as this because you want to sound old-school, you have my admiration and sympathy in equal measure.

Mind you, for $4000, I'd expect the pickup covers to be fashioned from unicorn horn.

Well that's very impressive. I have a problem with saving money. It tends to get spent before I've earned it...

Also on the 'quite expensive P bass' list must also be this from Warwick, retailing at a mere €5,697.45. Does look pretty cool though to be fair although YMMV of course.

Adam Clayton – Signature model
