alyctes Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I haven't seen an SB401 on eBay before. Mind you, I don't see how you'd know it was an SB401... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-collection-SGC-Nanyo-SB401-made-in-japan-bass-guitar-/141871310232?hash=item2108306598:g:dC0AAOSwwPhWjpkp Quote

simond9x Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Unusual to see 5 Nanyo BCs up on eBay at the same time. Now, if I had a spare grand.......... (but that's being greedy, I already have a 310 and a 320) Quote

That is how I found out mine was a 4 series whilst shimming the neck. Quote
Happy Jack Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 I can't see any particular difference between that SB401 and the SB301/SB310 ... what am I missing? Quote

TheRev Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016
so essentially a 310??
Yep, pretty much. When the model line was revamped from the *01 to the *10 models, the entry level 310 had active eq, which was essentially the same as the old 401 models. Quote
Rich Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 301, 310, 401... I remember a time when instruments had names. [/wistfuloldfart] Quote
linear Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 It makes you wonder doesn't it?
Ok, what should we call our new bass model? Well, 'Precision' 'Jazz' 'Stingray' those names worked well. Let's call it the 4-250X
Quote
Happy Jack Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 So then we got the fretless Precision, and discovered that the Jazz was pretty good for rock music. Did anyone ever get stung by a Stingray? Quote
linear Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) I've been unsuccessfully trying to get rid of a Mockingbird; my girlfriend remains derisive. Edited January 13, 2016 by linear Quote
