mrbassman_de Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Fodera Matt Garrison 4 Maple Burl Top & Back I bought this wonderful MG4 from the original owner only 6 months ago, but I realized that I have no real need for a 4-string bass - and for a bigger house repair I need to free up cash. So it is for sale again: a breathtaking MG4 with super rare Presentation Grade Maple Burl Top AND Back ! Spec: Presentation Grade Maple Burl full top and back Maple Burl electronics cover plate, cut out from the back wood piece Walnut body, Chestnut tone block 5-pc Ash neck Ebony board with Abalone blocks, 22 frets 33 scale, 19mm +/-0.5mm at bridge Year: around 2005 Pickups: Seymour Duncan Dual Coils Pope preamp Ebony ramp Weight: 4,44 kg Original case and tools Action is very low Foderas with exhibition grade top and back wood are extremely rare finds. This bass retails new for more than 15.000 USD plus shipping/VAT. The bass is top condition, only 2 very small dings on the body sides which are not visible without a closer inspection. Frets, Truss Rod, Action, Tuners, Electronics - everything works perfect. The bass has a 22-fret board to improve the slap capabilities. I personally prefer slapping on 21/22 frets basses because it sounds fuller and more organic than slapping on 24 fret boards. Edited September 15, 2016 by mrbassman_de

three Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I had a chestnut topped MG5 - it was a thing of extraordinary beauty but the board was simply too wide for me. I keep looking and hoping that this has been sold...I'm starting to weaken...

Auslander Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 An autentic Masterpiece from a great serious seller
cascanicoff Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 (edited)
...from a great serious seller
I can only confirm this. First hand. Not that it was necessary in this case, anyway. The bass I bought from him was not an inch short of mint. The packing was rugged. And the transaction was a real pleasure.
