Dood
What an amazing opportunity! Especially as these new strings are rather good indeed!
Billy Apple
I've got a brand new Spector 5'er incoming which might be a good testing ground
Sibob
Received mine yesterday, very excited to get them gigged! Cheers Andrew Si
Silvia Bluejay
I've decided to use my test set to revitalise my very first bass, a cheapo which still had the strings it originally came with. I played it a little with the old strings earlier today, to remind myself of what it sounds like, and then installed the NYXLs. I'm now waiting for them to stabilise, then I'll set the action and the intonation, and report back.
Kev
Having recently took delivery of a custom Alpher Instruments 5 string, I would love to put a 5 string set through its paces. These strings sound very interesting indeed!
Muzz
I'm about to restring my Shuker 4-string from the slightly older set of D'Addario EXL170s it's got on there at the moment, so it'd be a good opportunity to compare the new with the old. Thanks.
jazzyvee
I've been using D'addario nickel and pro steel bass strings on my Alembic basses since 2010 and cover a number of styles from Reggae, Jazz-Funk, RNB and Soul so would love to beta test a 5 string set 45 - 130 on my Series II bass since that is the next one due for re-stringing and I will be using it on the next few gigs and rehearsals. It currently has the same pro-steels on since July 2014 and they still sound nice and crisp. Cheers
Luulox
I have a set of Exl 170bt combined with a .135 b string on my 5 string and it would be interesting to compare sound/tension with the new 5 sets. Cheers Pete
dannybuoy
I've been using EXL170-5TP 45-130 on my Yamaha BB1025X (and BB415 before that) for years - I'd love to see how these compare!
sifi2112
Pity I've just restrung my headless 5 string with Elixir nanoweb as I wanted to try these coated strings but if these D'addario's fit my Dingwall ABZ5 I'd love to try a set as I don't have many string options for 37" scale cheers Simon
Woodinblack
Would love to try them, I am checking for different sounds at the moment. I mostly play 5 string but also a 4 string jazz live
LayDownThaFunk
My first bass strings starting out were D'Addarios and I cannot rate the EXP line and Chromes highly enough. I would be interested in the 45-100 gauge for 4 string.
King Tut
I usually use pro steels on my Jazz. Would love to beta test a set of 45-100's. I'm gigging regularly so would give them a great workout! What a cracking opportunity!
AndyTravis
Heard good things about the guitar version, was just about to order some new strings for my Mike lull 5, but it's 35" scale - will these be available for 35" basses? Forgot to add I'm not only gigging, rehearsing, teaching and recording - but doing set ups and restrings for local bassists too. Have a fair idea of what I want and what others want from strings... BassBunny
Would love a chance to try a 5 string set. Regularly use D'Addarios as well as SIT. I was recently contacted by SIT to "road-test" the new RB's, so have a good idea of what is expected of beta testing. Gig around 65 times a year so strings get plenty of action. gelfin
I'm about to rebuild a P bass with new J neck (P neck warped) and Entwistle pup. 4 string.
Musashimonkey
I write a killer trip advisor review, happy to convert these skills to strings! (Plus I've got a bass that desperately needs re-stringing) 4 string for me please. 😀 Edited January 14, 2016 by Musashimonkey
Cameronj279
Would fancy trying a 5 string set of these actually. I've been using Elixirs for years now and part of me wonders if there's anything better...haven't came across anything better yet!
Panamonte
I was about to order another set of Elixir nanoweb steels to replace the set on my American Deluxe Precision. I've got Elixirs on my TRB 1005 and L2000 as well, but I'd be very interested in giving these a go - a set of 45-100s. The other strings I am currently using are DR LoRiders (both steel and nickel sets) and DR Sunbeams so I would be able offer comparisons between these and the NYXLs as well. Mudpup
i would love to test a set of 4 string 45-100's please! I absolutely kill strings and have tried pretty much everything available in the never ending quest - currently settled on Dunlop Super brights but love EB Cobalts too..... gigging every week and get about 4 gigs to each set before i change them. leonshelley01
I would really like to try the 4 string set, as I currently use EXL165s but would like to try some alternative gauges and construction methods, so these would appear to fit the bill! mr zed
I would love to try a 4 string set on my Stingray HH. Always used Slinkys (as that is what Ernie Ball intended the bass to be used with) and it sounds great but I've been thinking about giving something else a try. Would be good to get a comparison. project_c
I'll be playing a fretless Fender Precision with my jazz group next week, I normally use XL Nylon Tapewounds but would love to test these if it's not too late.
BigRedX
If there's any 5-string sets still available I'd like to give one a go. They'll either go on my Warwick StarBass or the red Gus G3. Check the link in the banner that is my signature to see what I am doing musically at the moment.
