Body finished in transparent blonde - refinished by Marty Bell in 1999 - one of the best refinishers, he uses thinner lacquers so the sound could be better than with the original thick lacquer. Pickups are Seymour Duncan SJB1 from the 90's and the electronics are original. There is a small crack on the neck near the first fret, no impact on the playability, the neck is stable and the truss rod adjusts freely. The action is medium/low with a little bit of fret buzz here and there as expected on an instrument of this vintage. The playing is comfortable. I have had the bass set up and fretstoned at the Gallery in Camden. Weight - 3,8 kg - 8,4 lb Sound sample - https://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be Bass is located in Woodbridge, Suffolk but I often travel for gigs so could potentially meet elsewhere. The bass is a great player and an absolute beauty to behold and truly deserves to be played. Offering for sale or trade because I fancy something a little more modern - Sadowsky, Mike Lull, Fender CS etc. - try me! Any prospective buyer is very welcome to come over and try the bass out. Alternatively I am happy to ship within the EU. jhamler Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Thanks! A lot of interest and some enticing offers so far, but nothing has quite clinched the deal ;-)
jhamler Posted February 22, 2016 Author Posted February 22, 2016 The bass has just had a brand new truss rod, nut and jumbo frets fitted and plays like a dream.
jhamler Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 Bump - This is still available and has had some remedial work to get it in tip top playing condition - a brand new truss rod, nut and jumbo frets as well as a full setup from the very able Steve Barratt at Guitar Lodge, Suffolk. The neck is dead straight and it plays and sounds like a dream Given the money put into this work I would have to reflect this in the asking price which would now be £1450. Thanks, Jon
jhamler Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 ** Withdrawn ** I've decided to keep it for now due to a change of circumstances - thanks to all for their interest!
