Up for sale is my ply 3/4. It's been in my possession for about 3 years. I don't know all that much about it as there's no label inside although I have been told it was probably made in the 60s in either Germany or Eastern Europe.

Unfortunately around 2 years ago when I took it to my local luthier I was told that the bass bar had come unglued and was coming away from the inside front of the bass. In the photos you can see the bass side f-hole is sagging at one side. This is affecting the sustain on that side, particularly the low E. The price obviously reflects this. It would definitely be worth taking to a luthier to get a quote as I believe there is many years left in the old girl yet, I just couldn't afford to be without an instrument for an extended period of time and have had to upgrade recently.

You can also see where the neck was repaired at some point in the past in the photos.

The pickup included is the Shadow SH950.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or want to come round for a look. I'm in Bristol and this is collection only.

Cheers

Hi rorysmith, I am in Bristol too and am thinking of entering the world of double bass.

I was wondering if you could tell me who looked at the instrument before and whether there was any idea of cost of repair mentioned.
