BigRedX
I've used UPS, probably about six times (usually because no other option) to buy stuff from the states, EVERY SINGLE item was damaged - I never managed to get a penny out of them. If there's no other option than to use UPS - I'll just not buy the product, even if I desperately wanted it.
Are you sure you mean UPS and not USPS? jammys
I've used various services through Interparcel and Parcel 2 Go. The key thing is to pack it well! If you think on the lines of someone throwing it out of a fast moving train. Then even if the dummies lose it under a pile of other stuff it should survive. tauzero
I have UPS delivering a bass today, I'm not in so can't sign for it. The only option I have on their website is to collect the bass from Dartford... not very useful as I live in North London.
Go to UPS's website - you can set yourself as a user (I think it's called UPS Choice) and opt to have parcels delivered to one of their collection points if you're not there to take delivery. Here you go: https://www.ups.com/content/gb/en/tracking/ups_mychoice.html I selected a local corner shop which is open till 9.30, so far I've had four parcels via them. Although I've not had a card or anything so don't think they have actually tried to deliver it at all yet, despite what the tracking says... It is apparently now back in dartford again. Traveling half way up the country to collect a different bass myself this morning, this is how I will be doing it from now on. Couriers are just not worth he hassle IME. JapanAxe
Interparcel/UPS for me, but only after I've explored all the possibilities of a personal hand-over.
I've used USPS many times and have never had a problem with them, shipping anything from tiny things a couple of inches long to marine boat engines weighing several hundred pounds (don't think they do such heavy stuff anymore). I always use them as first choice shipping from the US. I find that the chances of paying duty are much lower than when using other couriers. In contrast I will never use UPS again, not only are they incompetent they are also dishonest.
