therealting
Does anyone know where to get feeler gauges that have measurements in fractions of an inch? Most of them seem to be in decimal (either in inches or mm), but most setup guides have measurements in fractions (like the Sadowsky guide, which I'd like to use as Roger did the best setup I have EVER had). I know you can convert it, but I'd rather have ones that just have the fractions on them if they are available. Anyone?

stoo
This one? http://www.sadowsky.com/media/support/library/technical/bp0996_bass_setup.pdf They mention using a 6" rule graduated in 64ths... Don't think I've ever seen imperial feeler gauges in anything other than thousandths though

I got the numbers from Roger when I visited his shop and I must have gotten the feeler gauges comment from elsewhere. I'll get a cheap set of feeler gauges anyway. Thanks for the help, guys. Grangur
If you already have a set of metric gauges why not compare the Sadowsky measurements with the ones in the Fender guide. They're probably very much alike. Then that would be a starting point. After a while you'll soon find out the measurements that suit you best. Then you'll stick with those. For myself, I stopped using feeler gauges a long time ago. I have other ways to measure that are far easier.
