JustaBass Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 thanks walbassist for the link... funny i remember when LM3's were all the rage.. (said with thumb firmly in cheek) just wondered why markbass have taken so long to bring out a 1000w version. Quote
Roland Rock Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Do we know if it's class D or class A/B? On a superficial note, I quite like the crazy green, much nicer than the LM3 Edited January 26, 2016 by Roland Rock Quote
BassBunny Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016
Do we know if it's class D or class A/B?
I'd bet on Class D seeing as LM3 is now Class D. Also it mentions "MPT" and here is the guff from the MB Website. He mentioned some time ago about developing his own Class D Power Amp. MPT (MARK PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY)! About all the bass amps on the market use the same power amp from different manufacturers, which are not specificically designed for bass. At Markbass, Marco De Virgiliis invested a lot of resources in R&D to develop a proprietary power amp technology, specifically designed to respect and glorify the tone of your instrument. Quote
JustaBass Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) "About all the bass amps on the market use the same power amp from different manufacturers, which are not specificically designed for bass." Is he allowed to say that... Edited January 26, 2016 by JustaBass Quote
BassBunny Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) If it's true, then Yes and I believe he is correct. Edited January 26, 2016 by BassBunny Quote
Sparky Mark Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 The 1000W power amp board is effectively a step and repeat of the Big Bang/LM3 500W unit. I think it's a shame that it has such a radical colour scheme, as a LM1000 in standard Markbass livery would be a logical upgrade of the LM800. Quote
Dancj Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Own this and the ninja 2x12 cab. Absolutely incredible. For the money it's a really good deal and to my ear for my sound, it was the exactly what I wanted and better then some of the more expensive options of buying two separate 12 cabs. Play a classic stingray and its just great! Warm or punchy tones easy peasy. Also, it fits in the boot of my car (which is a Fiat panda) https://www.dropbox.com/s/sptuzmlo41esc8v/20161001_230954.jpg?dl=0 Edited October 7, 2016 by Dancj Quote
LayDownThaFunk Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Oh look... another Richard Bona signature head... Quote
mikel Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Do we really need a 1000 watt backline amp? Quote
Kev Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016
1000W and only one speakon? D'oh!
Assume your not serious Funny how it is becoming more common to daisy chain cabs, makes total sense when you think about it, less wire dangling cables around! Quote
