Good small stand for gigs?

I'm looking for a compact stand that I can use at gigs, something that doesn't take up much floor space and folds up pretty small. I have a Hercules hanger stand which is great, but it's quite big and doesn't fold up very small. Ideally I'd use a Markbass keeper strap, but the handle on my cab is in line with the neck joint on my bass so can't use one.

Drew at GBBL recommended the Cooperstand duro pro, but they look like a bass would lean really far back on one.

All thoughts and suggestions welcome

Saw the attached picture of that stand on talkbass, the one in the middle is the one you're talking about. I think that's too much lean for me, looks like it couldn't take a knock.

I was considering one of these - they fold up pretty small and look a little more sturdy

I have seen a thing like the top of a regular stand that is strapped to the cab but I can't find it now

Like this but it straps on (!) So no damage to the cab

That's a really bad idea. Your bass will fall over if you so much as stare hard at it.

I know, along with the spontaneous headstock detachment problem inherent in the designs of my preferred brand of bass, I'm a real gamblin' man

My stands come from the music section at Toys R Us - £8. Don't laugh - they work! Small A-Frame, light, nothing's fallen over yet.

I do worry that I'm entrusting the safety of my bass to a piece of plastic, but I'm careful and no accidents yet. I have a BF 2 x 12 so its an easy attachment to the ports on the front, and unlike the MB keeper strap, I think this can be attached to lots more things. As well as my cab, I have attached it to tables, speaker stands, bass drum etc etc...

I've got one. It's fine for a symmetrical-bodied guitar at home. But I wouldn't trust on stage and never anywhere with a bass on it. The centre of gravity is just too high for it to be stable.

I use an identical one at home but never for gigs. Not because I don't trust the stand but because I don't usually trust people at gigs enough to leave my bass unattended on stage. If it's not over my shoulder, it's in a hard case!

I've used those and never had a problem with a symmetrically bodied bass. No good at all for an offset body though.

Hope it works out for you... Just thinking, do you think this will work with your cab? Just that IMO its nice to bring the thing you will attach it to along to the gig (i.e. your cab) as sometimes there just isn't a suitably stable protrudence handy. After my cab, I have had success with the bass drum, drummer willing.

I use the Hercules hanger. If I'm on a stage where there isn't room for that I'll put the bass in the gig bag between sets.

I reckon leaving the bass out in anywhere that small is going to get it damaged pretty quickly.

Looking at it I'm not sure it will, there isn't really a lip on my cabinet. Annoyingly there aren't many pictures of the back of the dock so I can't know 100%.

I have a Bergantino CN212, don't think I have a lip I could use for this. Now I'm considering this - [url="http://www.guitarholder.com/"]http://www.guitarholder.com/[/url]

It's a foam holder, and attaches to a cabinet with a velcro strip. I've emailed them asking how the velcro attaches to the cabinet.
