jammys Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Hi I've hunted around for a relevant thread. I'm sure there is one but for the life of me I couldn't find it...... Basically, my beautiful little thing has started to emit a noise akin to an untuned radio. It gets worse when the gain or master are turned up. The tone of the noise is also changed by the bass, mid and treble controls. Any help from you clever guys and gals would be welcomed. Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Does it 'fart' when you play through it? Sounds like a valve issue. Might need a service. In a dark room, turn it on, is one of the valves duller in appearance than the others? Not particularly scientific - just helps identify the cause. How old is the amp? Quote
jammys Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Hi. Its still sounds good when its being used. The valves all appear to be the same colour. Its a couple of years old. Are valves easily swapped by a reasonably competent diy'er? Quote

jammys Posted January 29, 2016 Author Posted January 29, 2016 Andy Cheers for the advice, I think I'll pop it off to the local tech tomorrow. Quote
