bubinga5 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Only my opinion of course. Most youtube listeners may know him as Mono Neon. But gospel lovers know him as Dwayne Thomas Jr. Im amazed this guy plays a Jazz Bass upside down but still strings it normally . he play's that KSD upside-down to amazing effect.. i guess he's used to it. great in the pocket bass playing. . what a fantastic bass player this guy is. His tribute to the Clarke's Sister record. Even Pino Palladino loves this guy. Edited January 31, 2016 by bubinga5 Quote
ambient Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I'd never heard of him until last week. Steve Lawson posted some video of him playing at NAMM. Quote
ambient Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Jimmy Haslip and one of my tutors at uni plays upside down like that too. I guess you get used to it, the same as playing the 'regular' way. Quote
bubinga5 Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Check out the video. Gospel Chops vol 1. Andrew Gouche is mind bending good at playing the electric bass. He really is something else. Quote
Cameronj279 Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Saw a few of this guys playing and never liked it much (not saying I'm any better!) but I do like that video! Quote
RoRi Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Both DVD's, Bass Sessionz Vol. 1 and 2 are highly recommended! http://www.gospelchops.com/store/ Quote
