Should we drop this thread in the recording forum?

It seems a bit unbalanced to have the noodle challenge pinned to the top of GD and therefore more prominent than the actual compo comp?

I'm going to leave this first one pinned in General Discussion to give it a bit more exposure.

Subsequent 60 Second Challenges [i](assuming it proves popular)[/i] will be posted in the Rec' forum as per usual.

Well I was noodling around with this in mind last night and may have recorded a little something to submit.

... didn't want to go first though in case no-one else entered and I ended up looking like a ninny :unsure:

What we need is a leader... Someone to proudly fly the flag for recording any old sh**e and submitting it for peer review. :mellow:

OK, I'll see if I can post something later on today. It's my speciality to be 'First Ninny', usually. I'll not be cross if someone else pinches that spot, though; it's not a good time for me, really. :mellow:

OK, so someone has to be first ninny – sorry Dad3353.
This’ll take longer to read about than listen to.
It’s a little thing I’ve had knocking about for ages.
It’s in 7/8 and I call it Neve’s Lament because “Neve’s” is seven backwards.
I usually play it through twice but that would take it past the one minute threshold.
Recorded directly into the PC using Audacity
Playing Bass number 1 – my 78 Precision

No soundcard at work but I will check it out tonight :)

I'm tempted to upload mine that I did yesterday, but I haven't listened back to it yet to make sure it's not sh*t so maybe I'd better do that first... :mellow:

If it makes you feel better I'm gonna try and upload something on Friday. Weirdly I reckon I'll get a better sound using my ipad to record audio from an amp than I will directly into Reaper

Yes I think i might go for something similarly low tech... probably just use my phone camera :)

Just had a listen and its great. Very nice composition and well played. Mine own attempt will be neither of those things! :D

Very nice Agwin I enjoyed that.

I too thought about uploading first as I have something already. But I had a great fear that I might be the only uploader then the joke really would be on me.

I shall upload mine in the next few hours. Actually have to re do it as it ran over a few seconds whoops!
