fatwull Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Just a quick question i have before i consider an Ampeg SVT 4 pro. Would it be too much of an amp for only 1 cab? thinking a Bergantino CN 212. Or would the Markbass little mark 800 be better? I just jam and play at home so maybe a bit much for that... Thanks, Wull. lowhand_mike Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 as long as you dont crank the volume too high it should be fine, use your ears to judge it Quote
fatwull Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Just been watching the youtube demos and looks a bit too much for what i will use it for as i don't gig, just jam, and it seems a bit complicated at the back of it for just using 1 cab. Quote
longtimefred Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 depends on if you want one or not mate. if you want one, then get it! there is no wrong answer if you want it haha, it will work perfectly well with one cab. Plus if you do get to go gigging with it, then you can tear peoples faces off with the power of it . Quote
lowhand_mike Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 yeah its certainly not for jaming, its a pro level amp really. but the berg would have handled it at reasonable volumes Quote
Lw. Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 It'll work perfectly well with one cab, as others have said - use your ears. But I would certainly feel for your neighbors if you're pushing a Berg 212 to destruction in the house! It's a lot of amp for a bit of home noodling but a good amp nonetheless, you can always just play it at low volumes. Quote
fatwull Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) In that case, which ampeg would be better for this scenario? or £600 amp alternative? I am in the country with old neighbours far enough away...... Edited February 1, 2016 by fatwull Quote
Lozz196 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Can`t see a Berg 212 not being able to handle it - your ears are bound to give up before the cab if only being used at home. Quote
longtimefred Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Maybe the svt 3 pro would be a bit more suitable if you thinking it's too much. They are both solid state amps so can be used at quieter volumes. Ampeg do a range of lightweight smaller cheaper amps called the portaflex but if it's a proper ampeg you are after, get an svt. You will have lots of fun! Quote
