This looks interesting and in good condition, but is it a franken-bass? Both Hayman and Shergold names on it...

Just saw in the "recommended items" in eBay. If I were right handed i'd be tempted to make a punt but know absolutely nothing about these.

I have one. Apart from the possible nut, truss rod and neck issues with the eBay example, they are great basses. I have had one for a while and it's a fantastic bass. Getting rarer all the time, too...

It looks very nice and yes I do have one and also a spare Shergold/Hayman neck. I keep thinking that there's a guy on the Shergold forum who will be going mad with GAS for those Perspex covers as they are very very rare!

They really are - I've never seen them in the flesh and have only seen two pics of a 4040 with them fitted.

I've had one with a bridge cover but not one over the pickup - always reminded me of those 60s space age looking hair dryers in old salons
