Pow_22 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 My Japanese Fender PB70 has developed a problem in that the G string machine head no longer holds tune. Im looking for a replacement and will probably end up replacing all 4 tuners. I think it is going to be pretty much impossible to find a drop-in replacement set that won’t involve drilling L. In keeping with the 70’s vibe of the bass I have seen the Fender Pure Vintage 70’s Machine Heads that look similar but possible with a larger back plate which could obviously prove problematic. I know there a few PB70 owners on here so has anyone replaced their machine heads at all? If so what with, a cheekily, did you keep the originals? Quote
Raggy Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I did (several years ago) I will take look in my bass-bits drawer for you. Quote
Dood Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 If it is a PB70-US model, then you can find Wilkinson Tuning Keys on ebay that are a great upgrade and drop straight on like-for-like, if Raggy can't help. Quote
