NancyJohnson
I saw this on eBay a couple of weeks ago. It's a Fernandes Thunderbird - it's a lot like the old Spector Thunderbirds Nikki Sixx played in the late 80s. I loved the old Spectors that Sixx played...the Spector headstock on a T-bird body was something lovely...this milks that design. Much love P x
EdwardHimself
i hate the original t-bird design, i'm so glad they changed it round and the upper fret access looks terrible on those spector style basses. Having said that however i really do want to get a spector 5 string with a right way round body http://www.thomann.de/gb/spector_rex_5_bk.htm
KevB
Speaking of TBird copies, anyone know what the guy in the Bleeding Hearts plays (if it is a copy)? Should be a video & images linked on this page: http://www.thingymajig.freeserve.co.uk/ble...arts/index.html I saw them at a festival last weekend. The bass has some tiny logo right at the end of the headstock which I couldn't make out. Nothing in the area you would expect to see Epi, Gibson or Orville names. Otherwise it looked like a regular TBird. Never saw the back so don't know if it was bolt on or neck through. It's really well made and with a great tone! I'm just about to upgrade it with some EMG's, a Spector lookalike bridge and some Schaller straplocks..... Here's some more pics..... Buzz
I dunno, I prefer the original t-bird shape. Although, I suspect that would balance better out of the box.
