Bass Wielder
Hi, Just thought I'd share this with you guys. I've been using the 'Stomp' with my double bass as a pre-amp for the pickups with excellent results. John's products are of the highest quality and this is a bonus as I got it to use as a pre-amp (switching between the EQ on my electric bass to a different EQ set up on the Stomp) and as a DI box or with any passive bass guitar. Try this if you can before getting a unit that is just designed for the Double bass. The guys that play both instruments will be happy!! My electric basses have got John's onboard pre-amp and let me tell you.....It's second to none (and some are quite expensive and in my opinion poorly designed and thus over-rated! As a matter of fact I just finished an album for a singer/songwriter and I had the perfect opportunity to try both the 'Stomp' and the 'U-Retro'. The double bass was mic'd and I used an Underwood p/up with the Stomp, for more articulation. What a superb sound I got. Then I used my Modulus with the U-Retro straight to the board (with the Stomp just as a DI). Clear as a bell with much 'Booty' and warmth!! Check them out I say!! Come try my ones!! MCR get in touch with John (say Michael sent me) I'll add some photos soon... Edited September 19, 2008 by mcruiz67
